I didn’t realize I consumed so many books, audiobooks, podcasts, TV, movies…
I have no intention of providing “reviews.” Just suggestions to you, dear reader, of what I have consumed and enjoyed. It’s not that I don’t have opinions, I just feel that by the time I’ve read/seen/heard something, a well-educated person out there has already written an accurate critique. I’m not a writer; I’m an actor, IT professional, nerd, media consumer, and user of the Oxford comma. So, I won’t mention something unless I really enjoyed it.
Ahh, the mere mention of Wil Wheaton takes me back to my 13-year-old self who daydreamed of being on Star Trek: TNG. I wanted to be an empath like Deanna Troi in the teal dress – not the futuristic purple jumpsuit.
Why is it that, in depictions of the future, everyone wears jumpsuits? All those technological advancements and people can’t wear anything other than giant onesies?
Alright, never mind about my adolescent fantasies… if you haven’t noticed the way Riker sits down, you’re in for a treat.
Seasons 1-3 are on Netflix and Season 4 started last week in the US on SyFy. If you consume media like I do, you can DVR the new episodes while binge watching the first 3 seasons.
I had the feeling that there were changes made for the American audience in season 3 (i.e. less side boob and more violence). A whole essay could be written on this but I won’t bother. I am very excited for season 4 and the premiere episode did not let me down.
Catching Fire impressed me. I felt like they hit the major plot points from the second book – and the recreation of the Capitol was impressive. The book series by Suzanne Collins was great, by the way. I definitely recommend reading the books.
